FormPlanet and i-TRIBOMAT projects have organised the webinar conference “Materials up-scaling: Bringing Materials characterisation and materials simulation together”, which was celebrated on September 28th. The event counted also with the collaboration of the European Materials Modelling Council (EMMC).
Material characterisation and modelling offers a great deal of opportunities to many European industries to face current challenges, boost material optimisation by better predicting material or part performance, prevent production losses and improve part quality.
The webinar included a presentation of the innovative characterisation and simulation services developed by FormPlanet, the Sheet Metal Forming Testing Hub, and i-TRIBOMAT, the European Tribology Centre, which will be launched into the market as services of novel European Open Innovation Test Beds. Additionally, two showcases of services for self-lubricating sealing materials’ upscaling and modelling methods for edge-cracking and crashworthiness prediction were also presented.
