FormPlanet partners have organised a series of informative workshops with the objective to show the main project’s case studies results obtained from the industrial demonstrators and the Open call selected companies. The workshops have been celebrated between the 26th of November until the 17th of December 2021 and counted with almost 100 attendees.
The workshops, lasting from 1h to 1h 30 min, included also an overview about FormPlanet project and the presentation of the new FormPlanet Test Bed entity being created, a presentation of the innovative services and one of two showcases on the potential of those services by means of case studies carried out with industrial demonstrators or Open Call awarded companies.
Italian workshop
The Italian workshop was organised by LETOMEC partners that delivered a presentation about the MA SpA case study aimed at defining the hot forming process window and key process parameters in relation with material properties to approach a zero-defect production. Additionally, partners from the University of Pisa participated in the workshop to present the FormPlanet project and the Hydrogen embrittlement services.
Spanish workshop
The workshop titled as “Advanced characterisation techniques for high-performance sheet-metal during forming and in-service” was organised by Eurecat on December 2nd. The session included the presentation of two cost-efficient and accurate procedures to characterise the fatigue and fracture toughness of sheet metals. The event also included a showcase of the results of two case studies, performed by Aludium and Gestamp, that have applied FormPlanet services to their products and materials for edge-cracking prediction using the Essential Work of Fracture (EWF) and edge ductility analysis.
Czech workshop
This workshop celebrated last 7th of December and was organised by partners from COMTES, which presented the different services they offer through the FormPlanet Test Bed and the presentation of MUBEA case studies, one of the companies participating in the project’s Open Call.
Swedish workshop
The Swedish webinar, delivered on December 16th by partners from the Lulea University of Technology, included an overview of the project and the presentation of the innovative modelling methods for Edge Cracking and crashworthiness prediction, as well as the presentation of Lamera case study results on formability prediction and accurate characterisation of multi-layer sheet metals.
German workshop
Finally, partners from Fraunhofer celebrated the webinar “Zero Defect Production on the Press Shop” on December 17th. This session provided brief overview about FormPlanet proejct and innovative techniques developed in the field of field of material characterisation and process monitoring. In addition, MA and Replasa case studies, two companies from the Open Call, were presented.
