FormPlanet partners have participated in the workshop “Building a common framework for OITBs to make the most of standardisation”, organised by UNE – the Spanish Association for Standardisation, and celebrated last October 1st.
Begoña Casas, technical project coordinator and researcher of the Metal and Ceramic Materials Unit of Eurecat, and Javier López-Quiles, project manager at UNE, delivered the presentation “FormPlanet CWAs”, which included a general overview about the project and the Open Innovation Test Bed (OITB) developed. During the presentation, they also explained the main standardisation activities done within the project, as well as the benefits of the CEN Workshop Agreements published, their methodology of work and the lessons learned.
The two CWAs published by the project are the result of eight months of work by the members of the CEN Workshop: “Innovative testing in support of the sheet metal forming industry”, which was launched in December 2020.

The workshop also counted with the participation of representatives from INNOMEM, INN-PRESSME, BIOMAT and OASIS, four European projects developing an Open Innovation Test Bed (OITB) in which UNE is leading the standardisation activities.
The workshop was focused on sharing common experiences and knowledge of the use of standardisation to support and impulse the objectives of R&D projects. Participants could learn about standardisation and specifically, about the European Standardisation system and the common framework to define a strategy to approach to standardisation.
