FormPlanet project promotes a new Call for Papers for the Special Issue: “Tribology for lightweighting” of the Lubricants Journal. This Special Issue has the objective to collect the latest research on advanced lubricants for automotive parts subjected to harsh tribological requirements and for manufacturing processes of automotive components using advanced materials for lightweighting.
The deadline for manuscript submissions is the 30th of November, 2021.
In recent years, lightweight solutions in vehicles have become one of the most important goals in the automotive industry, not only for the reduction in fuel consumption, but also for the enhancement of the battery range in electric vehicles. An accurate and adequate understanding of tribology can contribute towards reducing the carbon footprint of energy-intensive automotive systems and related manufacturing processes.
The “Tribology for lightweigthing” Call for Papers is an important opportunity to advance in the understanding of emerging lightweighting solutions and tribological optimisation, essential for decreasing emissions and the carbon footprint in automotive-related sectors and applications.
Papers submitted could be focused on these different key topics:
- Lightweight
- Automotive contacts
- Vehicle efficiency
- E-mobility
- Advanced high strength steels (AHSS)
- Aluminium
- Tribology in manufacturing processes
- Sustainability
- Novel lubricants
- Surface integrity
- Green tribology
FormPlanet project’s partner Dr. Montserrat Vilaseca, Director of Metallic and Ceramic Unit of Eurecat, is one of the co-editors of this Call for Papers, together with Dr. Leonardo Pelcastre from the Luleå University of Technology, also partners of the project.
