D4.2 Processability validation tests – Abstract

D4.2 is produced in the context of WP4, Task 4.3. Processability validation tests by sheet material developers and part-makers. The main aim of this task is to prove the effectiveness and reliability of the novel testing methodologies and models, developed or optimized in the frame of FormPlanet, to solve relevant industrial problems in sheet metal forming, by demonstrators from different sectors and metallic alloys. In this deliverable, the results of the different validation tests performed by sheet material developers and part-makers of the FormPlanet consortium are shown.

The processes optimization to produce AHHS, Al-alloys, multi-layer sheets metals and cold rolled steels have been done by different characterization methodologies to predict at lab scale, formability and service behavior.

Moreover, tests and simulations performed by test sites have contributed to improve the manufacturing process of complex parts with high strength sheet metals for lightweighting solutions and high-performance requirements in home appliances and transport applications.
